Kramer Charles Grasty

Kramer Charles Grasty

DEKALB — In loving memory of Kramer Charles Grasty, a vibrant 14-year-old soul born May 20th 2009 in DeKalb, Illinois. His passion for learning to play drums and guitar created a melody that resonated in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.

Alongside his PaPa, Kramer found solace and joy in the gentle cadence of fishing, creating cherished memories by the water's edge. Beyond his musical endeavors, he showcased a unique skill as an expert knife sharpener and collector. Kramer was an avid PC gamer but he also very much enjoyed playing good old-fashioned card games with his Memaw and Pepaw.

Tragically, Kramer faced a challenging battle with mental health issues that ultimately claimed his bright spirit on the 12th of November 2023. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of family, friends, and band mates.

Kramer is survived by his sisters, Joy-Lynn and Faith, and his brothers, Richard and Jackson, and grandparents Richard E. Grasty and Paula and Jim Powell. His father, Richard, and mother, Angel, are left with cherished memories of a son who brought joy and harmony to their lives.

In a bittersweet reunion, Kramer is now joined by his uncle Charles and grandmother Phyllis in heaven. He is also preceded in death by his great grandfather Howard, great grandparents Evis and Cleo, his aunt Diane, his uncle Larry, uncle Tim, uncle James, uncle Ron, and cousins Emily, Amerikiss, Sawyer, and Adam. May his family find solace in the joyous memories they shared and draw strength from the love that surrounded Kramer throughout his brief yet impactful life. May he rest in peace, forever serenading the heavens with the music of his beautiful soul.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1pm Monday, November 20, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochelle.

Visitation will be from 10am until the time of services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Grasty Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
