ROCHELLE — Kwik Trip/Kwik Star, Inc. a family-owned company headquartered in La Crosse, Wisconsin, has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Stop-N-Go Convenience Centers. This acquisition allows Kwik Trip/Kwik Star to follow its growth strategy by expanding its presence into Rochelle and northern Illinois.

The Kwik Star located at 1000 S. 7th St. in Rochelle will transition from Stop-N-Go to Kwik Star on Dec. 8 and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to serve the “Hub City” market area.

Founded in 1965 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Kwik Trip/Kwik Star is one of the largest independently-held convenience store chains in the United States. Today, Kwik Trip/Kwik Star owns and operates over 700 stores and employs over 28,000 coworkers. Kwik Trip/Kwik Star has annually been named a “Top Workplace” in each of the three states in which it currently operates – Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.

As a privately-owned company, one of the many employee benefits at Kwik Trip/Kwik Star is the commitment to share 40 percent of the company’s pre-tax profits with its coworkers. Kwik Trip/Kwik Star continues to grow through its strong focus on food, value-priced commodities, clean facilities and outstanding customer service.

Kwik Trip/Kwik Star says their staffing needs, like their company, continue to grow and they are looking to hire qualified coworkers.

“With take home meals and fried chicken now available at most stores, there are more opportunities than ever before at Kwik Trip/Kwik Star,” says recruiting manager Stephanie Cormican. “We staff our stores with more coworkers than Stop-N-Go and are looking for coworkers who can start training now,” says Cormican. “While we are hoping to have as many current Stop-N-Go coworkers join our team as possible, we will still need more in order to fully staff our stores and operate with our typical staffing levels.”

The company is looking for hard working and people centric individuals who are interested in part time, full time and leadership roles. Coworkers are needed for both the Rochelle and Dixon Stop-N-Go locations.

Applicants are encouraged to apply online at kwiktrip.jobs. There you can also find additional information on the benefits that Kwik Trip shares with its coworkers such as sick and vacation pay, 401k, health and dental plans, as well as a 40 percent profit sharing plan that provides coworkers with a yearly bonus check.

“We also encourage in-person interviews on Monday, Nov. 2 at the Rochelle Holiday Inn at 1240 Dement Road from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.,” says Cormican. “You too could become that smiling face our guests stop in to see.”
