DEKALB — The Lady Hubs freshman softball team had a rough start to the 2017 season, falling to Sycamore and LaSalle-Peru by a combined score of 37-1.
It was a much different story for the girls when they took on the DeKalb Barbs this past Wednesday at DeKalb High School. Behind a three-hit performance by Hannah Luxton, the Lady Hubs took down the Barbs 18-4 to nail down their first win and improve to 1-2 overall.
Abby Reish also recorded three hits for Rochelle, while Ally Reish doubled and pitched a complete game to earn the victory. Kaitlynn Ost totaled two hits at the plate, and RuthAnne Gardner came off the bench and hit safely to aid the Lady Hub offense.
