ROCHELLE — The Lady Hubs varsity bowling team honored five players prior to Tuesday’s Senior Night match against the LaSalle-Peru Lady Cavaliers. Seniors Katie Dummer, Carlie Elder, Hunter Eckhardt and Hope Palmer joined Anne Langer for gifts and photos before the conference battle began.
LaSalle-Peru won the match 2,838-2,471 to drop Rochelle to 3-11 on the season. The Lady Hubs will bowl at the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Meet at Mardi Gras Lanes on Thursday before returning to DeKalb for the IHSA Regional on Saturday.
The Lady Cavs took the first game 877-714 behind 228 from Clara Ferrari. Dummer led the Lady Hubs with 202, and the senior rolled 224 in Rochelle’s 965-846 loss to LaSalle-Peru in the second game. Elder added 193 for the Lady Hubs, while Ferrari had 223 and Sophie Kurtz chipped in 216 for the Lady Cavs.
LaSalle-Peru outscored Rochelle 996-911 in the third game to complete its series sweep. Ferrari bowled 247 to finish with a 698 series, and Dummer shot 256 in her last game for Rochelle’s high series of 682.
