FREEPORT — The Lady Hubs varsity cross country is enjoying another successful season, and the Rochelle girls continued their strong stretch of races by finishing third out of 13 schools in the Freeport Invitational this past Saturday.
Junior Katherine Bakken finished fourth out of 71 varsity runners with a time of 18:17.5, while seniors Claire Plapp and Hannah Cruz placed 16th and 18th with respective times of 20:12.8 and 20:21.9. All three Rochelle girls received medals for their individual performances.
Junior Anne Hickey placed 21st with a time of 20:41.2 to help lead the Lady Hubs on Saturday, while Senior Morgan Baker clocked in one spot ahead of sophomore teammate Britney Baez, with Baker placing 26th (20:56.8) and Baez taking 27th (20:57.8).
Rochelle’s junior varsity girls team placed eighth out of 13 schools, with junior Abby Wagner placing 28th and freshman Heidi Cruz taking 31st to lead the Lady Hubs.
