HINCKLEY — Not much went in the Lady Hubs varsity soccer team’s favor when the girls traveled to Geneseo on Tuesday for a conference match against the Maple Leafs, but the purple and white rebounded on Wednesday with a solid effort at Hinckley-Big Rock.

Geneseo scored three goals in the first half of Tuesday’s contest, and the green squad added four more scores in the second half to cruise to a 7-0 victory. Sophomore Holli Drew recorded 10 saves for Rochelle, and Drew added 13 more saves in the Lady Hubs’ 1-1 tie to Hinckley-Big Rock on Wednesday.

Rochelle fell behind 1-0 on a goal at the 15-minute mark, but senior Ashley Kerns connected on her first score of the season (67’) to even the match. The Lady Hubs offense was much more aggressive, totaling 13 shots on goal in the game.

The varsity squad moves to 2-4-3 on the season, and the girls will return home on Thursday for a nonconference contest against Princeton.
