STERLING — There were more personal records to go around for the Lady Hubs track and field team on Tuesday when the girls traveled to Sterling for a conference dual meet with the Golden Warriors.

Four jumpers set personal records including freshman Katie Van Hise, who placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14-3 ¾. Junior Morgan Knight took second in the triple jump with a mark of 32-1 ¼, while sophomore Cam Turner’s PR of 29-8 landed her in third place and freshman Maddie Ohlinger’s PR of 26-8 put her in fifth.

Freshmen Cristina Alfano and Gabrielle Harding continued to shine in the throwing events, with Alfano finishing second in the shot put with a heave of 29-8 and Harding placing second in the discus at 90-4. Alfano took third in the discus at 89-8, and Harding finished third in the shot put at 28-11 ¼. Junior Hunter Eckhardt PR’d in the discus throw with a toss of 67-4 ½, and freshman Madison Jozefowicz PR’d in the shot put at 17-0.

Sterling won the dual meet with 118 points to Rochelle’s 67. The Golden Warriors took three of the four relay events on Tuesday, with the Lady Hubs winning the 3200-meter relay with a time of 11:03.89. Freshmen Julissa Hernandez, Emma Smith and sophomores Katherine Bakken and Anne Hickey contributed to the win.

Juniors Jacie Wyatt and Cesca Vardman led Rochelle in the open sprints once again, with Wyatt winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.63 seconds and placing second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.44. Vardman finished third in the 100-meter dash (13.70) and the 200-meter dash (27.50), while Knight took fourth in the 100-meter dash (14.13) and junior Morgan Baker, who finished second in the long jump at 15-4 ½, placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (28.38).

Van Hise and Turner crossed the finish line in second and third during the 800-meter run, with Van Hise clocking in at 2:46.81 and Turner at 2:46.95. Bakken placed fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:56.94, and junior Ashley Ramos finished second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 15:07.64.

Sophomore Abby Tilton’s time of 19.12 in the 100-meter hurdles was good enough for third overall, and sophomore Cheyene Watson’s time of 20.04 earned her fourth place in the event. Tilton won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.73, with Watson finishing fourth at 1:03.11.
