ROCHELLE — Eight Rochelle tennis players including seven seniors and one foreign exchange student were honored during the Lady Hubs varsity tennis team’s match against the Yorkville Lady Foxes on Thursday, Rochelle’s final regular season match of the year.
Yorkville defeated the Lady Hubs 5-0, with Rochelle senior Alex Nava falling to Yorkville’s Ashley Hatch 0-6, 0-6 in No. 1 singles and Lady Hub senior Jasmin Galvan losing 2-6, 1-6 at No. 2 singles against Yorkville’s Maggie Romano. Lady Foxes Kaylee Kosulic and Maddie Russelberg snuck past Rochelle seniors Marissa Belmonte and Raquel Montelongo in No. 1 doubles 6-4, 6-4.
Lady Hub senior Lillian Fulgencio and sophomore Kate Monfils lost 0-6, 0-6 to Yorkville’s Tailyr Seehawer and Paris Roake, and Rochelle senior Anahi Calderon and junior Lila Roush fell 2-6, 1-6 against Yorkville’s Payton Pacetti and Chloe Boehm. The Lady Hubs finish the regular season 0-17.
