STERLING — The Lady Hubs varsity tennis team continued nonconference play on Wednesday, with the Rochelle girls falling at Newman Central Catholic by a score of 5-0.
Senior Jasmin Galvan fell to Newman’s Avery Meyer at No. 1 singles (0-6, 0-6), while senior Alex Nava dropped a two-set match to Newman’s Sydney Schott (0-6, 1-6). Seniors Marissa Belmonte and Raquel Montelongo lost 0-6, 0-6 to Newman’s Erin Vits and Maddy Jacobs at No. 1 doubles.
Seniors Lillian Fulgencio and Anahi Calderon fell 1-6, 2-6 in No. 2 doubles to Newman’s Audrey Melton and Chloe Klein, while junior Lila Roush and sophomore Kate Monfils lost 0-6, 0-6 to Newman’s Madelyn Ryan and Julia Ardis.
