OTTAWA — The Lady Hubs varsity tennis team continued Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference play on Thursday, with the girls falling to the Ottawa Lady Pirates by a final score of 5-0.
Senior Alex Nava fell to Ottawa’s Natalie Tabor (0-6, 0-6) at No. 1 singles, while Aubry Theissen defeated Rochelle seniors Jasmin Galvan in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-4. Lady Hub seniors Marissa Belmonte and Lillian Fulgencio dropped their No. 1 doubles match to Katie McGraw and Ellie Gallagher, 0-6, 0-6.
Junior Lila Roush and sophomore Kate Monfils fell to Ottawa’s Bailey Simpson and Regan O’Fallon at No. 2 doubles, while senior Anahi Calderon and freshman Mindy Pelayo lost to Lady Pirates Alyse Linde and Bergen Johnson in No. 3 doubles, 2-6, 0-6.
Rochelle’s next match is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11 against the Dixon Duchesses. The Lady Hubs will play at home.
