Landowner solar meeting planned

OREGON – The Ogle County Farm Bureau will host a landowner information meeting on commercial solar farms on Tuesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at the Ogle County Farm Bureau, in Oregon.
As more commercial solar energy continues to be developed solar power companies continue to contact landowners on the potential of constructing commercial solar power on their farms. In Ogle County several landowners have been contacted by solar power developers wishing to obtain easements on their farms.
This landowner meeting will help you look at various components of leasing your land to solar power developers. It will help you generate a better understanding of the numerous clauses contained in the leasing of your property as well as help you identify areas that could raise concerns for the future use of your property.
The program will be facilitated by Garrett Thalgott and Rae Payne. Thalgott is an attorney with the Illinois Farm Bureau Office of the General Counsel and has conducted several landowner information programs across Illinois. Payne serves as the Illinois Farm Bureau Regulatory Manager with extensive knowledge on utilities.
The program is free to any area farmer or landowner. Pre-registration is requested and can be made by contacting the Ogle County Farm Bureau at 815-732-2231 or email rek@ogle.comcastbiz.net
