Laurie’s hobbies included baking and hosting large family parties. Her baking specialties were pies and cinnamon bread, which she loved sharing with her family, neighbors and friends on Live Oak Avenue. She even entered the cherry pie baking contest at the 1999 Cherry Festival and won. Among other likes of Laurie’s were going to the movies, concerts and laughing at a great joke.

Laurie was a compassionate and professional caregiver for many years. When Gary passed away in 2001 and with her daughters grown, Laurie decided to attend nursing school. Laurie’s family was extremely proud when she graduated.

In 2015, Laurie married Steve Albanese and they resided in Beaumont. Several years later, Laurie moved to Hermosa Beach and lived with her daughter, son in law, and grandchildren.
