Lifeworks pumpkin festival scheduled for Oct. 17

Posted

ROCHELLE — Lifeworks Photography Studio will be hosting its second annual Family Pumpkin Festival at its home studio on Sunday, Oct. 17.

Lifeworks is inviting 150 families to come carve one jack-o-lantern pumpkin for each family that will be put on display for the fall Halloween season in front of the studio. Owners Daniel & Stephanie Williams decided they wanted to do a family-friendly event as an appreciation to their community and their clients while helping celebrate the fall season.

“Halloween is one of my favorite holidays,” Daniel said. “I’ve always tried to decorate and celebrate as much as I can and thought it would be a lot of fun to invite our friends and clients to come help celebrate with us.”

The Williams' will be providing the pumpkins and the carving tools and tables for free to any family who signs up. Families are welcome to bring their own tools too. The Williams will also be providing a big outdoor tent this year in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Hicks BBQ will be at the event. The Williams will be providing complimentary food to all the families who participate. The Williams will also have a giant obstacle course bounce house for kids to play too.
After you finish carving your pumpkin, stick around for a fun afternoon. Families and the community are invited to come back around dusk when all of the jack-o-lanterns will be displayed and lit in front of the studio.

The pumpkins will be lit up each Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Nov. 1. Families are encouraged to drive out, take pictures and check out the display. The event is completely free for any families that sign up.

All reservations for a time slot are booked on a first come, first serve basis. Anyone interested in booking a time slot can call the studio at 815-561-7131, by messaging the Williams on Facebook from the Lifeworks Photography Studio fan page or by emailing them at photo@lifeworksimaging.com.

A box for donations will be placed toward the road. All donations from this event will benefit the Daniel & Stephanie Williams Fund for the Arts.

The Daniel & Stephanie Williams Fund for the Arts was established with the Rochelle Area Community Foundation. The donor advised fund is aimed at encouraging permanent art installations in the Rochelle area.
