Local Scouts hold celebration banquet

Posted

ROCHELLE — It was a blue and gold celebration last Saturday as members of Pack 553 helped to honor the birthdays of the Boy Scouts of America, founded in 1910, and Cub Scouts, founded in 1930.
The banquet was held at the St. Patrick Catholic Church parish hall.

Jennifer Topping, Committee Chair for Pack 553 said several cub scouts crossed over to boy scouts.
“At the celebration we feasted on food and desserts, gave out monthly awards and performed skits,” Topping said. “Five cub scouts earned the last rank of Arrow of Light and crossed over to boy scouts.”
Typically most scout packs celebrate the anniversary week in February. The event not only celebrates the anniversary, but also serves to thank adults and leaders who have helped the pack.
The boys crossing over to boys scouts are Drake Ramos, Evan Patrick, Rhett Watson, Kaiden Morris, and Ryan Senne.
