ROCHELLE — Lujune “Becky” M. Furman, 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 in Rochelle. Becky was born on Dec. 21, 1938 to Melvin LeRoy and Ruth Elizabeth (Avey) Beck in Dixon. She married Curtis Harms Furman on Sept. 27, 1958 in Rochelle.
Becky was an elementary school teacher in Kings and Rochelle for many years. Although she retired from the Rochelle Elementary School District in 2005, teaching was in her blood and she continued to tutor students all the way through the fall of 2017.
She grew up around horses and had them her entire life. She had a love for being outdoors in her yard and with her many animals. She also loved her family dearly.
She is preceded in death by two daughters, infant daughter Cynthia Marie Furman and Christine Louise Caulder, who just recently passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 4, 2017; and a sister, Sceone Bailey.
Becky is survived by her husband, Curtis H. Furman, of Rochelle; daughter, Sherrilyn (Kurt) Simmons of Rochelle; son-in-law, Scott Caulder of Denton, Texas; three grandsons, Curtis Caulder of Denton, Texas, and Trent and Ryan Simmons of Rochelle; one great-grandson, Jaydon Caulder; and one sister, Arla Hunt. 
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., in Rochelle. The funeral will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. A memorial has been established.
