Man arrested after eluding deputies

On July 6 at approximately 5:41 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of South Freeport Road. After further investigation, Vincent Giuffre, 18, of Freeport, was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended and unlawful possession of cannabis. Giuffre was given an I-Bond and released from the scene with a future court date.
On July 7 at approximately 10:57 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on 2005 gray Chevy Tahoe at the intersection of Barker Road and Mill Road. The vehicle then attempted to flee from deputies and a pursuit followed. As the vehicle continued northbound on Barker Road and then eastbound onto Woodburn Road, stop sticks were deployed. The vehicle attempted to avoid the stop sticks by traveling off of the northside of the roadway before crashing with minimal damage in the 4,000 block of E. Woodburn Road. After investigation, deputies placed Marc Clarke, 32, of Rockford, under arrest for two counts of possession of a controlled substance, aggravated fleeing to elude, driving while license suspended, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Clarke was additionally issued citations for speeding, improper lane usage, and reckless driving. Clarke was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance in front of a judge.
On July 7 at approximately 5:59 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Main Street in Leaf River in reference to battery. Upon further investigation Pamela Ignacio, 57, of Leaf River, was placed under arrest for battery. Ignacio was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.
