Man arrested for driving with no license

On Sept. 7 at approximately 4:18 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 2000 block of North River Road. After an investigation, Kenneth E. Meier, 63, of Belvidere, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
On Sept. 7 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
John H. Cooper, 42, of Clinton, Iowa, for failure to appear. Cooper posted the $384 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court date needed. 
Sandra J. Garcia, 24, of Rochelle, for driving while license suspended with a $3,000/10 percent bond. Garcia was given a Recognizance Bond and released.
On Sept. 7 at 12:11 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 99 for a violation of the Scott’s Law. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Melissa Encinas for driving under the influence. Encinas also received citations for improper lane usage and Scott’s Law. Encinas was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted by AC Towing.
Sept. 9
On Sept. 9 at approximately 12:40 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 111 Main St., Apt. No. 1 in Leaf River for a domestic disturbance. After an investigation Tobias Whetsel, 37, of Leaf River, was arrested for domestic battery. Whetsel was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On Sept. 10, the following were arrested on outstanding warrants:
Gibran Zepeda, 25, of Rockford, for failure to appear. Zepeda posted the $306 full cash bond and was released with no further court date needed.
Amber Keener, 34, of Rockford, for failure to appear with a $3,202 full cash bond.
Dan Woods, 23, of Davis, for failure to appear with a $1,067 full cash bond.
Tina Smith, 51, of Rockford, for failure to appear with a $282 full cash bond.
Cheyenne Owens, 21, of Oregon, for no driver’s license with a $2,000/10 percent bond. Owens posted bond and will return to court Oct. 5.
Sept. 11
On Sept. 11 at 4:46 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon Fire Department, and the Oregon Ambulance were dispatched to a one vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment in the 1700 block of South Daysville Road. After a further investigation it was determined that a blue 2001 Pontiac Aztec was southbound on Daysville Road when it crossed over into the eastside ditch. The vehicle traveled the ditch for approximately 100 yards before striking a guard rail and rolling over onto its roof. The driver of the vehicle, Gregory L. Crisp, 50, of Nachusa, was extricated from the vehicle by the Oregon Fire Department and transported to Mercy Health Hospital in Rockford by the Oregon Ambulance with minor injuries. Crisp was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no insurance, and was given an I-bond for driving while license revoked. Crisp will appear in court at a later date.
On Sept. 11 Jose Navarro, 38, of Leaf River, was arrested for driving while license suspended. Navarro had a bond of $15,000/10 percent. Navarro did post the $15,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail.  Navarro will return to court on Sept. 28.
On Sept. 11, Ricky Barnett, 58, of Rockton, was arrested for petition to revoke. Barnett bond is set at $10,000/10 percent. Barnett did not post bond and was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 12.
On Sept. 11 Ogle County deputies investigated a report of a violation of bond conditions at 111 Main St. in Leaf River. As a results of that investigation, Tobias Whetsel, of Leaf River, was taken into custody for violation of order or protection. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he will be held until he can be brought before a judge.
Sept. 12
On Sept. 12 at approximately 6:55 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies performed a traffic stop in the 2000 block of West Lightsville Road. After investigation, deputies placed Daniel Wallgren, 37, of Oregon, under arrest for driving while license suspended. Wallgren was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. Wallgren was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
