Man arrested for failure to register as sex offender

Corey Jones, 45, of Freeport, was arrested for violating sex offender registration and failure to appear violate sex offender registration. Jones had a bond of $25,000/10 percent applies and $10,000/10 percent applies. Jones could not post bond and remained in the Ogle County Jail. Jones was scheduled to appear in court Oct. 18.
Truck versus combine crash
On Oct. 17 at approximately 6 p.m., deputies responded to the 13000 block of Illinois Route 72 for a report of a pickup truck versus a combine accident. It was learned that a 2006 Dodge truck driven by Joathan Young, 37, of Stillman Valley, was traveling east on Illinois Route 72 when he failed to reduce his speed, causing him to hit the rear of a CASE Combine driven by Paul Gibson, 53, of Stillman Valley. Young was extricated by fire and EMS and transported to Swedish American Hospital for minor injuries. Deputies were assisted on scene by LSR Fire, Stillman Fire, LifeLine, North Park Fire and Maggios Wrecker. The accident remains under investigation.

Warrant arrests
The following were arrested on Oct. 17 on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Kolby Morningstar, 19, of Sycamore, was arrested on a battery warrant. Morningstar had a bond of $10,000/10 percent applies. Morningstar could not post bond and remained in the Ogle County Jail. Morningstar’s next court date is Nov. 13.
Austin Bettner, 18, of Oregon, for a speeding warrant. Bettner had a bond of $2,000/10 percent applies. Bettner did post the bond. Bettner was released from the Ogle County Jail. Bettner will have to return for court on Nov. 9.
Matthew Gabbard, 30, of Dixon, was arrested for a failure to appear warrant. Gabbard had a bond of $557 full cash bond. Gabbard could not post bond and remained in the Ogle County Jail. Gabbard’s next court date is Nov. 19.
Steven M. Rozakis, 36, of Oregon, was arrested on a petition to revoke warrant. Rozakis had a bond of $25,000/10 percent. Rozakis could not post bond and remained in the Ogle County Jail. Rozakis’s next court date is Nov. 19.
