Corey Jones, 45, of Freeport, was arrested for violating sex offender registration and failure to appear violate sex offender registration. Jones had a bond of $25,000/10 percent applies and $10,000/10 percent applies. Jones could not post bond and remained in the Ogle County Jail. Jones was scheduled to appear in court Oct. 18.
Truck versus combine crash
On Oct. 17 at approximately 6 p.m., deputies responded to the 13000 block of Illinois Route 72 for a report of a pickup truck versus a combine accident. It was learned that a 2006 Dodge truck driven by Joathan Young, 37, of Stillman Valley, was traveling east on Illinois Route 72 when he failed to reduce his speed, causing him to hit the rear of a CASE Combine driven by Paul Gibson, 53, of Stillman Valley. Young was extricated by fire and EMS and transported to Swedish American Hospital for minor injuries. Deputies were assisted on scene by LSR Fire, Stillman Fire, LifeLine, North Park Fire and Maggios Wrecker. The accident remains under investigation.
