Man arrested for no valid driver’s license

On Jan. 26 at 7:46 p.m., Ogle county Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 6000 block of N. IL Rte. 251 for an equipment violation. After a short investigation, Salvador Leon Vera, 37, of Rochelle, was arrested for no valid driver’s license. Leon Vera was transported to the Ogle County jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On Jan. 26 the following were arrested for Outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Trenton Gaines, 49, of Dixon, for driving while license suspended. Gaines had a bond of $3,000 (10 percent). Gaines posted the $3,000 (10 percent) bond and was released from jail. Gaines has to return to court on Feb. 16.
Lindsey Roberts, 32, for theft. Roberts has a bond of $1,500 (10 percent) and will remain in the jail. Roberts was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 29.

Jan. 27
On Jan. 27 at 1:23 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Eighth St. at Eighth Ave. in Rochelle for a registration violation. After a short investigation, Jesus Penaran, 22, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving while license suspended. Penaran was transported to the Ogle County jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On Jan. 27 at approximately 10:09 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7000 block of North Kishwaukee Rd. After further investigation Andrew Smith, 25, of Byron, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Smith was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On Jan. 27, Nathan Smith, 27, of Rockford, was arrested for an Ogle County outstanding warrant. Smith had a warrant for failure to appear and bond is $2,789.77. Smith did not post his bond and will remained in jail. He was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 29.
Jan. 28
On Jan. 28 at approximately 1:53 a.m., deputies responded to an address in the 1000 block of West Soli Dr. After further investigation Kevin Skoff, 21, of Oregon, was placed under arrest for delivery of alcohol to a minor. Skoff was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Also taken into custody was Cherokee Haataja, 20, of Dixon, for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
On Jan. 28 at 10:02 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies along with Rochelle Fire Department and EMS responded to Brooklyn Rd. at Flagg Rd. for a one-vehicle accident with injuries. After an investigation, it was determined that Austin Cupp, 21, of Rochelle, disobeyed the traffic control device at the intersection of Brooklyn Rd. at Flagg Rd. Cupp’s vehicle went through the intersection, and collided with the ditch, north of Flagg Rd. Cupp was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Cupp was issued citations for several traffic violations.
