Man charged with DUI after motorcycle crash on Aug. 3

On Aug. 3 at 9:17 p.m., deputies responded to Illinois Route 64 and Grandview for a single motorcycle crash. During the investigation, it was learned that Chad Chojnacki-Puffer, 25, of Sycamore, was traveling east on his 2014 Harley-Davidson when he failed to negotiate a curve causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and enter the south ditch. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to KSB Hospital by Oregon Fire. Chojnacki-Puffer was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released at KSB on an I-Bond and will appear in court on Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Oregon Fire. The crash remains under investigation.

On Aug. 3 at approximately 4:54 p.m., deputies responded to Illinois Route 64 east of Oregon for a report of a driver traveling in the center of the roadway. Deputies located the vehicle at Illinois Route 64 and German Church. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Bambi L. Blanco, 53, of Davis Junction, for driving under the influence of alcohol.  Blanco was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On Aug. 4 at approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Third Street in Leaf River. After an investigation, deputies arrested Jessica Davis, 30, of German Valley, for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of alcohol. Davis was also issued a citation for improper lane usage. Davis was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

On Aug. 5 the Ogle County Sheriff deputies arrested Juan Garcia, 43, of Rochelle, for no valid driver’s license. Garcia was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff deputies on Illinois Route 251 near Bethel Road after being stopped for speeding. Garcia was released on a I-bond and will appear in court at a later date.

On Aug. 5, the Ogle County Sheriff deputies arrested Kila Berry, 27, of Rockford, for driving while unlicensed. Berry was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff deputies on Illinois Route 251 near Hemstock Road after being stopped for speeding. Berry was released on an I-Bond and will appear in court at a later date.
