On July 7 at approximately 1:27 p.m., deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the 4000 block of South IL Route 251 at the intersection with Maple Ave. Brandon Sgro, 23, of Rochelle, was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Defective Brakes, and License not on person. The 16-year-old driver and 16-year-old passenger of the other vehicle were treated and released at the scene by members of the Rochelle Fire Department.
On July 7, Allison Mengult, 27, of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Mengult didn’t post $712 full cash for bond and was scheduled to appear in court July 10.
July 9

On July 9 at 8:46 p.m., Ogle County deputies checked on a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road in the 10000 block of E. IL Route 64. After an investigation, Joshua Smith, of Dixon, was arrested for driving while license suspended. Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Ogle County Jail. There he was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Smith was held in lieu of bond.
On July 9 at approximately 2:22 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 500 block of South IL Route 251. After an investigation, Juan G. Villanueva, 33, of Rochelle, was arrested for No Valid Driver’s License (Suspended) and for Fictitious Driver’s License.
July 10
On July 10 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a Domestic Disturbance at a rural Byron home. Pursuant to the investigation, Kristopher Haak, 32, of Byron, was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Unlawful Interference with the Reporting of Domestic Violence. Haak was confined at the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance.
