Man killed in accident

On April 30 at approximately 5:07 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7000 block of West Pines Rd. After further investigation Ruggeri Periban, 27, of East Moline, was placed under arrest for no valid driver’s license. Periban was also cited for possession of cannabis. Periban was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
On April 20 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Ryan P. Harleman, 40, of Stillman Valley, for contempt of court and failure to appear. Harleman posted $1,000 and was released. Harleman will return to court on May 21.
Joel P. Moore, 30, of Nelson, for driving while license revoked with a $10,000/10 percent bond. Moore remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on May 21.

Leslie J. Nicholosi, 62, of Rockford, for failure to appear with a full cash bond of $736. Nicholosi remains in the Ogle County Jail and was scheduled to appear in court May 1.
Gregory S. Thompson, 54, of Rockford, for failure to appear with a full cash bond of $1,589.50. Thompson remains in the Ogle County Jail and was scheduled to appear in court May 1.
Autumn N. Zeisler, 30, of Rockford, for failure to appear with a full cash bond of $2,427. Zeisler remains in the Ogle County Jail and was scheduled to appear in court May 1.
Fatal accident
On April 30 at approximately 8:46 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies along with the Byron Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident with injuries on IL Route 72, just west of the City of Byron. A Mazda passenger car was driving eastbound on IL Route 72 when it drove off the north side of the roadway. The Mazda travelled approximately 300 feet in the ditch before sliding sideways and impacting a tree. The driver, and only occupant, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ogle County Coroner. The driver was identified as Jason Larson, 32, of Rockford. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by the Byron Police Department. Accident remains under investigation.
On May 1 at 6:15 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies were advised of an abandoned wrecked vehicle in the 15,000 block of E. Mowers Rd. After an investigation, deputies located and cited the 17-year-old minor of Machesney Park for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed to cause an accident. Minor was released on an I-bond. No injuries were reported.
On May 1, Joseph Bull, 58, of Rockford, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant. Bull posted bond of $375 and was released will appear in court on May 21.
On May 1 at 10:21 p.m., following a traffic stop on I-39 MM 104, deputies arrested Robert E. Taylor, 55, of Rockford, for driving while license revoked. Taylor was also cited for possession of cannabis. Taylor was transferred to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted by Rochelle Police K9 and Illinois State Police.
