Man refuses treatment following accident

On April 19 at 3:43 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Leaf River Fire Department, and the Leaf River Ambulance responded to a one vehicle accident in the 200 block South Main Street in Leaf River. A blue Chevrolet Cruze driven by Gregory Grove, 64, of Leaf River, was northbound in the 200 block of South Main Street in Leaf River when he lost control of his vehicle. Grove crossed over the roadway, striking a utility pole head on. Grove was treated and released at the scene by Leaf River Ambulance.
On April 20 at approximately 12:26 p.m., deputies responded to the Marathon gas station after receiving a report that a victim of domestic battery was there. The suspect, Jacob J. Gomez, 29, of Stillman Valley, was located and stopped a short time later in the 6000 block of Brick Road. Gomez was arrested for aggravated domestic battery, unlawful restraint, driving while license suspended, and on a Lee County warrant for Contempt. Gomez was additionally cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The female victim was transported by Stillman Valley Ambulance personnel to Swedish American Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On April 22 the Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Luis Rojas, 33, of Rochelle, for no valid driver’s license. Rojas was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
On April 22 Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Miguel Castillo, 45, of Indianapolis, Ind., for no valid driver’s license. Castillo was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
On April 23 at 1:33 a.m., deputies responded to the 2,000 block of W. IL Route 64 for a one vehicle accident. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Elwood Lee Sarver, 38, of Polo, for driving under the influence of alcohol and no valid driver’s license. Sarver was also issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving left of center, improper lane use, driving on shoulder and illegal transportation of alcohol. Sarver was uninjured in the accident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
