DEKALB — Marcia L. Forest, 94, of DeKalb, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born July 27, 1923, in Sycamore, the daughter of Carl and Lila (Knappenberger) Medine, Marcia married Darrell E. Forest on June 18, 1943, in Sycamore. Marcia was employed by the University Plaza in DeKalb for over 25 years and was a resident at Barb City Manor for five years. She is survived by two sons, Larry (Sharon) Forest and Kelly (Sue) Forest, both of Sycamore; one daughter, Sheryl (Jack) Bakker of Western Springs; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; two brothers, Lyle and Everett Medine; two sisters, Virginia Lynn and Elaine Graham. The memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb with the Rev. Ken Foster of Paw Paw officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the funeral home.
