JACKSON, Tenn. — Maria Louise Olson, 75, passed away on May 30, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Jackson, Tenn., surrounded by family.  She was born on March 31, 1943 in Rochelle toNole G.H. and Elizabeth (Pierce) Rainwater.
Maria graduated from Rochelle Township High School and was the former Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce before moving to Tennessee.
In her earlier years, Maria enjoyed horseback riding, camping, snowmobiling and was an avid bowler. 
Above all, Maria loved her family most, making several trips to Illinois from her Nashville home to hang out with her sisters, brother and several nieces and nephews. She was the one known for taking several pictures of everyone (whether you wanted them or not), and always having a diet Pepsi in her hand. She also traveled to many ballparks around the country to watch her grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved to play golf with her son-in-law and grandsons.  Maria also loved her Tennessee Titans.
Maria recently retired and moved to Lake Placid, Fla., where she enjoyed swimming, playing pool, shuffleboard, and golfing with her family and friends in the Covered Bridge Retirement Community.  
She is survived by her three daughters, Tammy (Bubba) Cummings of Jackson, Tenn., Sandi Olson of Rockvale, Tenn., and Carla (Chuck) Marr of Madison, Tenn.; her brother, Rodney (Ursula) Rainwater; five sisters: Jean (Richard) Woollacott, of Rockford, Barb (Gene) Smith of Sun City, Ariz., Janice (Jack) Barringer of Rochelle, Linda (Roy) Kinn of Milton, Wis., and Diane (Don) Kinn of Milton, Wis.; four grandchildren, Blake (fiance’ Alida) Olson, Allen Marr, Zach (Shelby) Cummings, Shelby (fiance’ Craig) Cummings; seven great-grandchildren; her dear aunt, Rosemary Rainwater, of Rochelle; many cousins; along with many nieces and nephews.  
 She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
 A memorial visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Rogula officiating.  A second memorial will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23 at Metro Baptist Church, 332 E Cedar St., Goodlettsville, Tenn. The memorial service follows at 11 a.m. with Pastor Phil Martin officiating. 
Memorials may be given in Maria’s memory to Hospice of West Tennessee or Kirkland Cancer Center in Jackson, Tenn.
