Marianne A. Slajchert

ROCHELLE — Marianne A. Slajchert, 87, of Rochelle, passed away peacefully Friday, March 3 at her son’s house in Wheaton, Illinois. Marianne was born on Oct. 23, 1935 to Edward and Mary (Knetl) Slajchert in Chicago.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle where she served as a minister of care to shut-ins. She was a volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels and a former president of the Women’s Club in Rochelle. Marianne worked for Equifax, Inc. for several years and then with Sinnissippi Center in Rochelle prior to retirement.
Marianne is survived by two sons: Richard (Julia) Spahn of DeKalb and Gregory (Juanita) Spahn of Wheaton; her brother, Michael Slajchert of Chicago; six grandchildren: Claire, Natalie and Richie Spahn, Anthony (Kady) Wilder, Danielle (Luis) Sanchez and Rochelle Wilder and five great grandchildren: Evelyn, Isiah, Elias, Vienna and Cherith Wilder.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five children: Katherine Echevaria, Christopher, Steven, Mary and Margaret Slajchert and four brothers: Edward, Lawrence, Anthony and Richard Slajchert.
Cremation care was provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
