ESMOND — Marilyn J. Eychaner, 84, of Esmond, died on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 in Kishwaukee Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born April 4, 1932 in DeKalb to Emmett and Mary (Riemsnider) Rand. On Aug. 17, 1952, she married Raymond Eychaner, in Esmond, at the Esmond United Methodist Church. Together, they farmed in the Esmond area for 41 years until his death in 1996.
She was a lifelong member of Esmond United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She celebrated life with her family and friends which included traveling, family dinners, camping, card club and working alongside her husband and son on their farm.
Survivors include her children, Debra (Will) Burlingham, Karen (Hank) Schmitt, Judy (Thomas) Maloney and Russell (Barb) Eychaner; grandchildren, Mark, Brad, and Scott Burlingham, Emily (Colin) Portle, Eric Schmitt, Gary (Jamise) Schmitt, Tony (Phoung) Schmitt, Mike (fiancé-Mallory Thornberry) Maloney, Andy Maloney, and Natalie, David, and Steven Eychaner; great-grandchildren, Allison, Katie, Nathan, Madelyn and Miles Schmitt, Marianna Burlingham, and Olivia Portle; brothers, Lowell (Donna) Rand, Howard (Gloria) Rand, Gerald (Marjory) Rand, and Charles (Phyllis) Rand; sister, Norma Rand; cousin, Audrey Stocking; sister-in-law Carol Rand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Phyllis Charlesworth and Carol Rand; and brothers, Wilbur and Ronald Rand.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Esmond United Methodist Church, 675 Main Street, Esmond.
A visitation will be held from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. prior to the service, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Esmond United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, and American Heart Association.
