ROCHELLE — Martha Ellen McMillan passed away on April 23, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 11, 1923, to Thomas James and Dorothy Mae (Bell) Craddock in Murrayville.
She was the second oldest of 11 children. For many years there were no boys and she loved to tell everyone that she was her dad’s boy who helped him with the farm work. She loved horses and could harness and drive a team of horses. At 18, she left the farm and moved to Chicago where she loved to go dancing at the ballrooms. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Above all, she loved being with her family and enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is suvived by her daughter, Paula Vogeler of St. Charles; grandchildren, Richard Tippy of South Elgin, Ronald Tippy of Clarksville, Tenn., Rhonda (Gary) Brown of Steward, Rich (Stacie) Vogeler of Ashton, Angela Cudmore of St. Charles, and Rebecca (Ken) Manning of Rochelle; great-grandchildren, Tommie Vogeler of Ashton, Elizabeth Tippy of Orlando, Fla., Shannon Brown of Steward, Kathy Brown of Bloomington, Alysha Tippy of DeKalb, Emalie and Ethan Vogeler of Ashton, and Logan Cudmore of St. Charles; siblings, Jean (Richard) Monroe of Jacksonville, June (Nick) Gowan of Jacksonville, and Jim Craddock of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews she loved very much.
She was proceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy McMillan; daughter, Regina Tippy; granddaughter, Dorothy Tippy; grandson, Tom Vogeler; sisters, Floreca Stewart, Betty Conner, Dorothy Osborne, Cathy Gotschall, Mary Hagerman and Linda Hayes; and brother, Robert Craddock.
Services are being held at Reynolds United Methodist Church, 2496 Reynolds Rd, Ashton, at 11 a.m. on April 26. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Interment to follow at Ashton Cemetery in Ashton.
Funeral services were entrusted to Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. Sixth St., Rochelle.
