DIXON — Martha Jane Bley, 63, of Dixon, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born April 26, 1960 in Rochelle, the daughter of Melvin and Donna (Card) Thomas. She married David Bley on October 13, 2000. 

Martha worked at the Motel 8 in Dixon for 23 years, eventually ending up as the night manager. She was a member of T.O.P.S. in Dixon for many years. Martha lived with her dear friend, Madlyn Parks, for the past 4 months. This living arrangement gave each of them an opportunity to strengthen their bond as friends, something each of them was deeply grateful for. Madlyn spoke fondly of Martha, describing her as a fun loving and caring person. 

Martha is survived by her husband, David Bley; her aunt Marilyn and her children; and her dear friend, Madlyn Parks. 

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by a brother, Donald Thomas.
