Martin Erdahl

ROCHELLE — Martin Erdahl, 93, passed away Wednesday, June 29 at his home in Rochelle. Martin was born on March 17, 1929 to Ingvald and Bergitte (Erickson) Erdahl in Lindenwood.

Martin grew up during the depression. During that time, the family moved frequently as his father worked for various farmers.  This had Martin attending many different country schools. From school, he went to work for the Creston Creamery until he was drafted and entered the Army. Returning from the service, he went to work at DelMonte can plant and was there until his retirement 38 years later.

Martin is survived by his nieces and nephews: Betty (Craig) Stouffer, Linda (Dave) Ludwig, Quentin Erdahl, Nancy (Doug) Enke and Doug Erdahl. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters: Borghild Erdahl and Olive Ewald; brother, Oscar Erdahl and nephew, Harold Erdahl.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. The burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Lindenwood.
