ROCHELLE – Michael J. Hollingsworth, 63, of Rochelle, lost his second battle with cancer on May 18, 2017 at 8:10 a.m. in his residence.
Memorial services will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, Mendota, with Rev. Steve Breedlove officiating.
Michael was born Oct. 21, 1953 in Belvidere to Herman and Darlene (Oakley) Hollingsworth. He married Elaine Mavis on Aug. 13, 2005 in Morristown, Tenn.
Michael was a 1972 graduate of Belvidere High School. He was a forklift driver for Conway Trucking for 30 years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of Rochelle; two daughters, Kasandra (Josh) Beck of North Carolina and Jodie Hollingsworth of West Virginia; four stepchildren, Tammie (Michael) Nelson, Tina Piskie, and Paul (Cindy) Piskie all of Mendota, and John (Anna) Long of Ailey, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Karl) Holten of Loves Park, Linda (LeRoy) Blum of Belvidere, and Rita Szkeradek of Portland, Ore.; and his father, Herman (Nancy) Hollingsworth of Belvidere.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Spooner; his stepfather, Alden Spooner; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be directed to Mike’s favorite charities — OSF Peoria Cancer Care or Illinois Children’s Hospital or any cancer charity of donors choice in Mike’s name.
