ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Police Department is continuing to investigate counterfeit bills found in an area parking lot recently.
This follows a rash of counterfeit bills presented to local businesses a few weeks prior. According to Rochelle Police Chief Eric Higby, the money had an Asian character on it, with wording that translated to prop money.
Area businesses and residents are cautioned when accepting large bills.
“We will continue to work the cases and pursue the leads we have,” Higby added.
