On Nov. 24 at 10:53 p.m. county deputies, along with Byron Police and Fire Department, responded to the 9000 block of North Twin Oaks drive for one vehicle accident. It was learned that Stanton Lewis, 23, of Byron, was northbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and came to rest in the center of the roadway. Lewis was transported to a Rockford hospital for minor injuries. He was charged with DUI and released on an I-Bond. He will appear in court on Dec. 20 at 9 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
On Nov. 24 at 8:08 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Illinois Route 2, deputies arrested Gary Barney, 53, of Leaf River, for felony driving while license revoked and driving while license revoked. Barney also received citations for no insurance, only one head lamp, loud muffler, possession of cannabis and drug equipment. Barney was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
On Nov. 25 at 12:56 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Department deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 near Creston Road for a headlight violation. During the course of the traffic stop it was learned that the driver, Ignacio Gonzalez Cantu, 36, of Mounds View, Minnesota, was driving on a revoked license. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.
