CRESTON — On July 5 at 2:10 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Rochelle Fire Department, and the Rochelle Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries on IL Route 38 east of Creston.
A motorcycle driven by Shawn Mcconnaughay, Sr., 41, of Dixon, was travelling westbound on his Harley Davidson motorcycle at a slow speed when a Mercury Sable also travelling westbound on Il Route 38 rear-ended the motorcycle. Mcconnaughay was pushed into the north side ditch and the car, driven by Christopher J. Fritsch, 23, of Sterling, came to a stop on the south side shoulder of the road.
Mcconnaughay was flown to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford by Lifeline Helicopter with multiple injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
