ROCHELLE — Kylee Muraira continued to find the hoop for the Lady Hubs sophomore basketball team, scoring 15 points to lead Rochelle in a 44-30 loss to the Morris sophomores.
Mya Latta added 10 points for RTHS, while Cam Turner and Emilee Dueringer each scored two points and Makenna Ferrari added one point.
“We had a bit of a rocky start in the first quarter but we got after it in the second quarter with good defense,” head coach Tim Duncan said. “Kylee knocked down a couple 3-pointers to keep us in it and Mya did a good job of getting to the free-throw line and finishing plays… Morris just kept hitting shots in the second half and we couldn’t respond.”
The girls will face Stillman Valley on Thursday in nonconference play.
