DIXON — Rochelle senior Tyler Nalley gave his best performance of the season on Monday, and his effort was enough to help the Hubs varsity bowling team defeat the Dixon Dukes for its second victory of the year.
Rochelle topped Dixon 3,129-3,081 over three games, with the Hubs winning both the first game (1,023-977) and the second game (1,058-1,051) to take a 53-pin lead in the match. Nalley’s 223 propelled Rochelle to victory in the first game, and his 226 helped the Hubs edge Dixon in the second game. Senior Mark Bratko (207) and junior Tyler Johnson (205) also stepped up for Rochelle in the second game.
Despite falling 1,053-1,048 in the third and final game, the Hubs knocked down enough pins to take home the series victory. Juniors Dallas Driver (213) and Brady Shank (210) led Rochelle in the third game, while Nalley added 193 to finish with a team-high 642 series. The win bumps Rochelle up to 2-4 overall.
