ROCHELLE –– The “Hub City” is seeing progress as several businesses around town.

Severlocal businesses are expanding services and renovating existing locations to better serve the community.
Liquor ‘n’ Wine is constructing a new location in Rochelle’s northern corridor along IL Route 251. Further down north Seventh Street, Sawicki Motor Company is remodeling the collision center to update the front show room
Sawicki
Construction began in November to update the former Sawicki showroom. The front showroom portion of the building has sat empty for several years as Sawicki Collision Center has occupied the rear portion of the building.
While Sawicki works to improve the showroom for the addition Jeep and Chrysler vehicles the collision center has remained open.

Mike Meyers, general manager, explained contractors are working on the inside of the building and are currently waiting for the showroom glass to arrive. The construction is expected to continue another 90 days and the showroom glass should arrive this month.
Sawicki Motor Company announced the acquisition of Krahenbuhl Chrysler Jeep during the summer 2016. The new Chrysler Jeep showroom is expected to open in April.
Currently, there are no plans announced for the location at the corner of Flagg Road and Seventh Street once the Chrysler Jeep dealership moves into the remodeled location.
Liquor ‘n Wine
Liquor ‘n Wine is expecting to open an expanded store in April. The new Liquor ‘n’ Wine retail store will be located off Seventh Street in Rochelle’s northern corridor.
Owner Manish Patel explained the retail store will feature an expanded selection of wine, beer and sprits as well as a lounge and bar with local food service.
Construction began in October for the 8,500 square foot building.
Patel explained contractors are currently working on the inside of the building and waiting for Rochelle Municipal Utilities to hook up power to the building. Once power is installed, contractors will then begin installation of heat and the floor.
“We are on track at this moment,” stated Patel.
Construction is expected to last an additional three months, with the new location opening in April. In the meantime, Liquor ‘n’ Wine remains open at the May Mart location.
