On Aug. 21 at about 2:18 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash involving an injury at Freeport Road and Sterling Road. Deputies learned that a 2014 Indian Motorcycle driven by Harley Vogt, 77, of Sterling, was traveling south on Freeport Road, failed to stop at the intersection and entered the southeast ditch, coming to rest in a corn field.

Ogle County Sheriff's Report: Aug. 21-28

OGLE COUNTY — On Aug. 21 at about 2:18 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash involving an injury at Freeport Road and Sterling Road.  Deputies learned that a 2014 Indian Motorcycle driven by Harley Vogt, 77, of Sterling, was traveling south on Freeport Road, failed to stop at the intersection and entered the southeast ditch, coming to rest in a corn field. 

Vogt was pronounced deceased on scene by the Ogle County coroner. Deputies were assisted by Polo Fire and Ambulance along with the Polo Police Department.  The crash remains under investigation.

On Aug. 21, at 6:56 a.m. Ogle County sheriff’s deputies, Polo Police Department, Polo Fire Department, and the Polo Ambulance responded to an accident with injuries at Route 26 and Route 52. Gabrielle F. Klukaczynski, 18 of Princeton, was southbound on Route 26 when she failed to stop for the stop sign.  Klukaczynski struck an embankment before coming to a stop in a corn field.

Klukaczynski was transported to KSB Hospital by the Polo Ambulance with multiple injuries. After a further investigation, Ogle County deputies met with Klukaczynski at KSB Hospital where she was arrested for driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign. Klukaczynski was given an I-bond and a September court date.

On Aug. 23 at 12:04 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevy Impala at Fourth Street and Washington Street in Oregon. After a short investigation, Deputies arrested Raheem J. Martin, 28, of Dixon, for unlawful cannabis container, unlawful use of cannabis and driving while under the influence of drugs.  Martin was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Oregon Police.

On Aug. 26 at 9:54 a.m., Ogle County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Seventh Street in Rochelle for an equipment violation. After a brief investigation, Israel Nava, 26, of Rochelle, was charged with improper cannabis container. Nava was released from scene with a Notice to Appear in Court.

On Aug. 26 at 6:23 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a black Ford Fusion on Interstate 39 and Ritchie Road for speeding.  After a short investigation, deputies arrested Xavier Davison, 27, of Chicago, for driving while license revoked.  Davison was transferred to the Ogle County Jail.

On Aug. 27 James Phillips, 33, of Sterling, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Phillips has a full cash bond of $7,139 and will appear in court on Aug. 28 at 1 p.m.
