OREGON — On Jan. 6 at approximately 3:40 p.m. deputies conducted traffic stop in the 14,000 block of East Illinois Route 72. After an investigation, deputies arrested Thomas Worthington II, 37, of Davis Junction on an outstanding warrant and driving while license suspended. Worthington was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On Jan. 6 at approximately 11:04 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of South Illinois Route 2. After investigation, deputies placed Kandras Martin, 25, of Rockford under arrest for an active Whiteside County warrant, possession of a controlled substance (crack-cocaine) and improper container of cannabis as a driver. Martin was additionally issued a citation for a defective taillight. Martin was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.
On Jan. 7 at approximately 3:30 a.m. deputies with the assistance of the Illinois State Police responded to the intersection of Illinois Route 72 and Limestone Road for the report of a vehicle parked in the intersection. Upon arrival, a male driver later identified as Charlie Zabinski, 20, was found asleep at the wheel. After a brief investigation, Zabinksi was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. Zabinski was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was additionally cited for parking in an intersection.
On Jan. 9, deputies arrested Christopher Canales, 21, of Rockford, for no valid driver's license. Canales was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 near Illinois Route 64, after being stopped for speeding 116 m.p.h. in a 70-m.p.h. speed zone. Canales was released on a I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.
On Jan. 9 at approximately 7:50 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of North Freeport Road. After an investigation, Jordan M. Meinert, 31, of Freeport, was arrested for an outstanding Whiteside County warrant and for improper container of cannabis as a driver. Meinert was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Meinert was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
