Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: July 25-29

OREGON — On July 25 at approximately 5:45 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of South Freeport Road, deputies arrested Brandon Boyt, 26, of Durand for driving while license suspended. Boyt was released on scene with a return court date later next month. 

On July 26, deputies arrested Xavier Alexander, 19, of Rockford for driving while license suspended. Alexander was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 near Illinois Route 38 after being stopped for speeding. Alexander was released on a I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

On July 27 at 8 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on East Illinois Route 38 at South Beck Road for a traffic violation. After an investigation, Landon Kempson, 30, of DeKalb was arrested for driving on a revoked license, possession of cannabis 30-100 grams and an in-state warrant. Kempson was also cited for no front registration, improper use of registration, no valid registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Kempson was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. All individuals are presumed innocent.

On July 27 at 11:15 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of West Roosevelt Street in Stillman Valley for a report of a disturbance. After an investigation, deputies arrested Julian Flores, 19, of Kenosha, Wisconsin for aggravated battery (public place), battery, disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. Flores was transported to the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance.

On July 28 at approximately 6:07 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of West Montague Road. Upon investigation, Brekk Revels, 32, of Forreston, was arrested for driving while license suspended. Revels was also cited for speeding. Revels was released from the stop on an individual bond and given a future court date.

On July 28 at approximately 7:03 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at Interstate 39. After investigation, deputies arrested Charles Smith Jr., 40, of Leon, Iowa, for aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol (class 2 felony), aggravated driving while license revoked (class 4 felony) and driving under the influence of alcohol. Smith was also issued citations for improper turn signal, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol. Smith was subsequently transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.

On July 29 at approximately 12:23 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of South Division Avenue in Polo. Upon investigation, Kurtis W. Pilling, 21, of Polo, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Pilling was also cited for speeding, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper transportation of alcohol as a driver. Pilling was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
