OREGON — On June 1 at approximately 3:45 a.m. deputies responded to the Pilot gas station in Rochelle to investigate a disturbance that occurred in a vehicle on Interstate 39. After investigation, Lessi Stewart-Strahm, 23, of New Glarus, Wisconsin, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a firearm. Stewart-Strahm was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. Additionally, Nanyamka James, 27, of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, was arrested for driving while license suspended and released by I-bond with a return court date. All subjects are presumed innocent.
On June 1 at approximately 9:50 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Illinois Route 38 and Quitno Road. After investigation, deputies arrested Austin Cantrell, 25, of DeKalb, for possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer and driving while license suspended. Cantrell was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and an equipment violation. Cantrell was subsequently transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. All subjects are presumed innocent.
