Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: June 17-20

OREGON — On June 17 at 8:40 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Illinois Route 64 near the intersection of Moore Road for an equipment violation. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Shantez Murphy, 34, of Machesney Park, for driving while license suspended. Murphy was released on an individual bond on scene with a return court date. Murphy was also issued a citation for tinted windows. All individuals are presumed innocent.  

On June 17 deputies arrested Jhonatan Cristancho, 32, of Woodridge, Illinois for driving while license suspended. Cristancho was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 near Illinois Route 64 after being stopped for speeding. Cristancho was released on a I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

On June 18 at approximately 5:18 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Division Avenue in Polo. After an investigation, Shane Pritchard, 45, of Forreston, was arrested for driving while license revoked. Pritchard was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Pritchard was additionally charged with improper container cannabis/driver. All individuals are presumed innocent. 

On June 19 at approximately 3:48 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of East Illinois Route 64 and Mulford Road in reference to a pickup truck versus motorcycle accident. A preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup truck being driven by Amy Anthenat, 46, of Creston, was northbound on Mulford Road at which time it failed to yield to an eastbound motorcycle being driven by a 60-year-old male from Addison, Illinois. The motorcycle collided with the driver side of the pickup truck. The sole occupant of the motorcycle was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital by Rochelle EMS, where he was later pronounced deceased. Anthenat was uninjured in the accident. Deputies were assisted by the Illinois State Police and Rochelle Fire/EMS. This incident remains under investigation.

On June 20 at approximately 1204 p.m. deputies responded to the 4,000 block of West Timber Lane near Grand Detour in response to welfare check. After investigation, James A Catalano, 69, of Dixon, was placed under arrest for aggravated discharge of a firearm, a class 1 felony. Catalano was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held awaiting an appearance before a judge. All subjects are presumed innocent.
