Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: March 19-21

On March 19 at approximately 6:19 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Illinois Route 64 and Interstate 39. After investigation, deputies arrested Jahashi Hutton, 28, of Carpentersville, Illinois for aggravated driving while license revoked. Hutton was issued citations for driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no front registration. Hutton was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: March 19-21

OREGON — On March 19 at approximately 6:19 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Illinois Route 64 and Interstate 39. After investigation, deputies arrested Jahashi Hutton, 28, of Carpentersville, Illinois for aggravated driving while license revoked. Hutton was issued citations for driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no front registration. Hutton was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

On March 19 at approximately 9:30 p.m. deputies attempted to stop a vehicle near the intersection of East Illinois Route 64 and Interstate 39. The offending vehicle failed to stop and fled southbound on Interstate 39 in an attempt to evade deputies. Deputies pursued the offending vehicle and with the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, were able to get the vehicle stopped using stop sticks near mile marker 83 in Lee County. After investigation, deputies arrested Craig Kehl, 49, of Ottawa for aggravated fleeing to elude a peace officer, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, an outstanding Ogle County warrant and aggravated driving while license revoked. Kehl was issued citations for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, speeding 26-34 m.p.h. over the limit and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Kehl was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond. Ogle County deputies were assisted by Lee County deputies and District One Illinois State Police.

On March 21 at approximately 12:29 a.m. deputies responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of East Third Street in Leaf River. After further investigation Corey Craycraft, 26, of Leaf River was placed under arrest for aggravated battery-victim 60 years or older (class 3 felony) and resisting a peace officer. Craycraft was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.

On March 21 at approximately 5:44 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in the 2,000 block of West Myrtle Road for a report of criminal damage to a vehicle. After a brief investigation, Mark Ellena, 57, of Leaf River, was arrested for criminal damage to property. Ellena was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
