Ogle County Sheriff's Report: March 19-22

On March 19 at 10:16 a.m., deputies were conducting a follow up investigation in regard to forgeries that had occurred at multiple Stillman Bank branches. Deputies learned Tanya Thomas, 52, Cleveland, Ohio had committed another forgery at the Stillman Bank branch in Rochelle on March 16. Thomas was additionally charged with forgery, a Class 3 Felony. She was still in custody at the Ogle County Jail for felony charges that occurred on the same date at other Stillman Bank branches.

On March 19 at 9:42 p.m., deputies investigated a vehicle stopped in the roadway near the intersection of Freeport Road and Illinois Route 26 in rural Forreston. After further investigation Kenneth Morris, 60, Freeport, was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended. Morris was released on an individual bond.
March 20

On March 20 at 11:09 a.m., deputies stopped a 2017 Chevy Malibu at Illinois Route 72 and Mulford Road for speeding 73 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Jannet Pacheco-Vazquez, 28, Rochelle for driving while license suspended, operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device (BAIID). She also received a citation for speeding. Pacheco-Vazquez was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On March 20 at 12:30 a.m., deputies received a call of a reckless driver west bound on Pines Road from Lowell Park Road. Deputies located and stopped the offending vehicle and driver at Pines and Devils Backbone roads. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Stephen Dexter, 26, Dixon, for DUI drugs, unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), unlawful container/driver, possession of drug equipment. He was also cited for improper lane use and no seat belt. Dexter was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Oregon Police.

On March 20 at approximately 12:32 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at Ridge and Camp roads in rural Mount Morris. After an investigation, deputies arrested Ashley Paddie, 30, Dixon for driving while license suspended. Paddie was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she is being held in lieu of bond.

On March 20 at 5:57 p.m., deputies responded to the 7500 block of North Mount Vernon Road in rural Forreston in regard to an ATV accident. An investigation into the accident revealed an ATV being driven by Andrew Albrecht, 23, Polo, was southbound when it lost control, causing the ATV to overturn multiple times. Albrecht and a passenger in the ATV, Bianca Ruchti, 20, Oregon, were transported to Freeport Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Albrecht was cited for operating an ATV on the roadway. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Forreston Police, Forreston Fire/EMS and Polo Fire/EMS. 
March 21

On March 21 at 3:02 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at 1000 West Pines Road. After an investigation, deputies arrested Brandy Veurink, 35, Polo for driving while license suspended. Veurink was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she is being held in lieu of bond.     

On March 21 at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office along with Rochelle and Hillcrest EMS responded to the intersection of IL Route 251 and Hillcrest Avenue for a car versus bicyclist. After conducting an investigation, it was learned that Timothy Huber, 26, Rochelle, was riding southbound on the highway and approaching Hillcrest Avenue when a Honda Civic traveling northbound driven by Saul Alanis, 58, Rochelle, turned onto Hillcrest Avenue in front of Huber causing Huber’s bicycle to strike the passenger side of Honda. Alanis was issued a citation for failure to yield when turning left. Huber was treated for minor injuries and released on scene.
March 22

On March 22, Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Cretsinger, 53, Byron, for driving while license suspended. Cretsinger was arrested by deputies on Route 72 near Stillman Valley after being stopped for speeding. Cretsinger was transported to the jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
