Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: March 2-7, 2023

OREGON — On March 2 at approximately 7:21 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 11,000 block of East Flagg Road. After investigation, deputies placed David Coil, 35, of Ashton under arrest for no valid driver's license. Coil was additionally issued a citation for suspended registration. Coil was released on an I-Bond at the scene and given a future court date.

On March 3 at approximately 5:30 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 9,000 block of North Kishwaukee Road. After investigation, deputies placed Damian Rodden, 23, of Oregon was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended. Rodden was released on an I-Bond at the scene and given a future court date.

On March 3 at approximately 3:26 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Big Mound Road. After investigation, deputies placed Miroslava Oliveros, 24, of Rockford under arrest for no valid driver's license. Oliveros was additionally issued citations for improper passing in a no passing zone and failure to change her address with the secretary of state. Oliveros was released on an I-Bond at the scene and given a future court date.

On March 3 at approximately 8:55 a.m. deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Freeport Road and White Oak Road. After investigation, deputies learned a black-colored Audi passenger car, driven by Peter Leeson, 22, of Belvidere, was traveling westbound on White Oak Road when he approached the two-way stop intersection of Freeport Road. At the same time a black Chevrolet passenger car, driven by Porchia Moore, 31, of Freeport was traveling southbound on Freeport Road while approaching the White Oak Road intersection and had the right away. The Audi then pulled out in front of the Chevrolet and was struck on the passenger side by the Chevrolet.  Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and ended up in the southwest ditch. Forreston EMS responded to the scene and later transported Moore to Freeport Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Leeson was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by Shannon EMS for minor injuries and was later released. Leeson was issued citations for disobeying a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Forreston Police Department and Illinois State Police assisted with the accident.    

On March 4 at 12:48 a.m. deputies with the assistance of Mt. Morris Police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Hitt Street, Mt. Morris. After a brief investigation deputies arrested Corey Stone, 27, of Oregon for driving without a valid license. Stone was released on a $2,500 individual bond with a return court date. Stone was also issued citations for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to signal.

On March 4 at approximately 12:11 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of North Illinois Route 251. After investigation, deputies placed Eric Hentges, 59, of Rockford, under arrest for driving while license revoked (class four felony) and possession of stolen property (class four felony). Hentges was also issued citations for driving while license revoked (class A misdemeanor), operating an uninsured vehicle and no valid registration. Hentges was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.

On March 4 at approximately 4:31 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the north intersection of Ridge Road and Pines Road. After investigation, Deputies placed Savannah Siron, 22, of Dixon, under arrest for driving while license suspended. Siron was additionally issued citations for operating a vehicle with suspended registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. Siron was released on an I-Bond at the scene and given a future court date.

On March 4 at 3:15 a.m. deputies responded to a power pole in the roadway. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Jeffrey Bardell, 24, of Polo for driving under the influence of alcohol. Bardell was transported to Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Bardell was also issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, use of an electronic communication device while driving, expired registration and improper lane usage.

On March 4 at 9:41 p.m. deputies with the assistance of Mt. Morris Police Department responded to Mt. Morris Estates for a disturbance. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested John Hitchcock of Mt. Morris for criminal damage to property and violation of pretrial release conditions. Additionally, James Hilliard of Mt. Morris was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Both individuals were transported to Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On March 6 at 5:04 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on East Illinois Route 72 near North Mill Road. As a result, Andrew D. Hanvy, 24, of Freeport was arrested for driving while license suspended. Hanvy was additionally issued citations for expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Hanvy was released on an I-Bond with a court date to appear.

On March 6 at 5:45 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Northwestern Drive and Junction Road. After a brief investigation, Rex Mcmanaway Jr., 20, of Davis Junction, was arrested for driving without a valid license. Mcmanaway was released on a $2,500 individual bond with a return court date. Mcmanaway was also issued a citation for failure to signal.

On March 6 at 6:52 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvest Glenn Drive and Junction Road. After a brief investigation, Alex Anderson, 19, of Davis, Illinois was arrested for driving while license suspended. Anderson was released on a $2,500 individual bond with a return court date. Anderson was also issued a citation for failure to signal.

On March 7 at midnight deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North Illinois Route 2 for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Quentin Hanson, 31, of Dixon was arrested for no valid driver's license. Hanson was released on a signature I-Bond with a return court date. Hanson was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no registration light.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
