On Oct. 15 at approximately 6:54 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North Stillman Road. After further investigation, Dylan Evans, 22, of Rockford was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of cannabis 30-100 grams and unlawful possession of cannabis/improper container. Evans was also cited for speeding and loud exhaust. A passenger in the vehicle, Nicholas Maxey, 22, of Loves Park was placed under arrest for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Maxey was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol. Evans and Maxey were both transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.

OREGON — On Oct. 15 at approximately 6:54 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North Stillman Road.  After further investigation, Dylan Evans, 22, of Rockford was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of cannabis 30-100 grams and unlawful possession of cannabis/improper container. Evans was also cited for speeding and loud exhaust. A passenger in the vehicle, Nicholas Maxey, 22, of Loves Park was placed under arrest for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Maxey was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol. Evans and Maxey were both transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.

On Oct. 16 at approximately 3:48 p.m deputies initiated a traffic stop in the Circle K gas station parking lot in Byron. After further investigation, Dontay Caviness, 36, of Rockford was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of cannabis 30-100 grams and unlawful possession of cannabis/improper container. A passenger in the vehicle, Rachel Jones, 33, of Rockford was placed under arrest for unlawful possession of cannabis/improper container. Jones was released on an I-Bond. Caviness was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On Oct. 17 at approximately 2 a.m. deputies along with Lynn Scott Rock EMS responded to the 4,500 block of North Illinois Route 251 for a two vehicle accident. After a short investigation, it was determined that Stephanie Neff, 36, of Holcomb, was traveling northbound on North Illinois Route 251 when she struck a pickup truck traveling northbound in front of her near the rear driver's side truck bed. The truck was driven by Austin Nutt, 19, of Dixon and he was accompanied by two juveniles. Nutt and the two juveniles were treated on scene by Lynn Scott Rock EMS and released. Neff was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Neff was issued citations for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and following too close. Neff received an I-Bond with a return court date later next month. 

On Oct. 17 at approximately 4:06 p.m. deputies responded to a motorcycle accident in the 10,700 block of North Illinois Route 2. An investigation revealed a northbound motorcycle being driven by Michael Daun, 60, of Island Lake failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the east ditch. Daun sustained apparent minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Byron EMS. The accident remains under investigation.

On Oct. 17 at approximately 12:27 a.m. deputies responded to a driving complaint in the 3,000 block of East Illinois Route 64. A short time later, deputies were able to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop while in the 2,000 block of East Brick Road. After investigation, Ddputies placed Paul Harrison, 49, of Chana under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Harrison was additionally issued a citation for improper lane usage. Harrison was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

On Oct. 17 at approximately 9:37 p.m. deputies performed a traffic stop in the 17,000 block of East Illinois Route 64. After investigation, deputies placed Takyra Young 31, of Rockford under arrest for no valid driver's license. Young was additionally issued a citation for an inoperable registration light. Young was released on an I-Bond and given a ride to Rochelle. The passenger, Fatimah Edmond, 24, of Rockford, was additionally arrested for a failure to appear Ogle County warrant for driving while license suspended. Edmond was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

On Oct. 18 deputies were advised of a vehicle traveling north on Interstate 39 from mile marker 58 that had been seen pointing a gun at passing motorists. At 3:38 p.m. deputies located the vehicle and after a short investigation arrested Joshua Logan, 40, of Maple Grove, Minnesota for unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis improper container.  An unloaded cased firearm was also located in the vehicle. Logan was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted by Illinois State Police and the Illinois Department of Conservation Police. The investigation is pending.  

On Oct. 18 at approximately 8:17 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near Penn Corner Road and Anterior Road for an equipment violation. After investigation, Frank Malston, 27, of Mt. Morris, was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. Malston was also cited for an inoperable registration light and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Malston was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
