Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 12-13, 2023

OREGON — On Sept. 12 at approximately 2:55 p.m. deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident with injury at the intersection of Kishwaukee Road and Meridian Road. Upon further investigation Kelly Yocum, 59, of Dixon, was cited for failure to reduce speed and unlawful possession of cannabis. Yocum was transported to Swedish American and released on an individual bond with a future court date given.

On Sept. 12 at approximately 1:59 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at West South and Center Street in Creston. After an investigation, deputies arrested Theresa Mullis, 43, of DeKalb, for driving while license suspended. Mullis was given an I-bond for her citation and released from the scene.  Mullis's passenger, Gene Gunn, 40, of Calumet City, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of DeKalb County. Gunn was given a notice to appear and was released from the scene. 

On Sept. 13 at approximately 11:45 a.m. deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Mud Creek Road and Leaf River Road.  It was determined that a black Toyota Tacoma being driven by Seth M. Todd, 31, of Columbus Junction, Iowa was southbound on Leaf River Road. Todd failed to yield the right of way to a black Ford F-350 that was eastbound on Mud Creek Road. The Ford was being driven by John B. Wells, 38, of Mt. Morris and his passenger Cody M. Snyder, 23, of Forreston. Todd pulled his Tacoma into the intersection and was struck by the Ford being driven by Wells. Wells was transported to Mercy Health by Life Line Helicopter for life-threatening injuries and Snyder was taken to KSB for serious injuries. Todd was transported to OSF St. Anthony for serious injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
