Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 14-19, 2023

OREGON — On Thursday, Sept. 14 the Ogle County Sheriff's Office received reports from both the Creston School District and Kings School District of a suspicious person taking pictures from the roadway in front of the schools. The subject was reportedly driving a black Audi. The same vehicle was also observed at a school in a neighboring county. Investigators from the Ogle County Sheriff's Office have identified the vehicle, a black four-door Audi with Indiana registration, and are actively seeking to speak with the driver. On Tuesday, Sept. 19, the individual observed taking pictures outside Creston and Kings Elementary Schools was located. Through the investigation, it was determined the subject was employed by a company to take photos of schools, restaurants and local amenities for real estate purposes throughout many communities in northern Illinois. All information has been verified and there are no additional concerns with this incident.

On Sept. 19 at approximately 8:52 a.m. deputies responded to Flagg Road and Lowden Road for a reported car in the ditch. After a brief investigation, deputies learned that a domestic altercation occurred inside the vehicle, which caused the vehicle to lose control and go into the ditch. As a result, Albert Brooks, 40, of Dixon, was arrested for domestic battery. Brooks was transported to the Ogle County Jail and must appear before a judge.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
