Ogle County Sheriff's Report: Sept. 22-23

On Sept. 23 at approximately 11:57 p.m. deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Chestnut Avenue in Forreston after the a vehicle had been called in as a driving complaint traveling all over the roadway and in the oncoming lane of traffic. After investigation Deputies placed Bradley Burke, age 36 of Dixon, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Burke was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. Burke was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu bond.

OREGON — On Sept. 23 at approximately 11:57 p.m. deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Chestnut Avenue in Forreston after the a vehicle had been called in as a driving complaint traveling all over the roadway and in the oncoming lane of traffic. After investigation Deputies placed Bradley Burke, age 36 of Dixon, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Burke was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. Burke was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu bond.   
On Sept. 22 at 6:56 p.m., deputies were dispatched to West Illinois Route 64 and North Illinois Route 26 in reference to a single-vehicle accident with injuries. After an investigation, deputies learned Margaret L. Kovaka, age 74, of Savannah, was driving west bound on West Illinois Route 64. Kovaka drove through the intersection, exited the roadway and drove through a dry retention pond, before coming to a stop in her 2016 Dodge. Kovaka was transported to KSB Hospital in Dixon, for non-life threatening injuries she suffered due to the crash. Deputies were assisted on scene by Polo Fire Department and the Polo Police Department.
