Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 28-Oct. 1

On Sept. 28 at approximately 11:04 p.m. deputies performed a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. After investigation, deputies placed Ryan Pearcy, 26, of Byron under arrest for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a controlled substance (MDMA), possession of a controlled substance (LSD), possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin mushrooms) and improper cannabis container-driver. Pearcy was additionally issued a citation for improper plate attachment. Pearcy was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 28-Oct. 1

OREGON — On Sept. 28 at approximately 11:04 p.m. deputies performed a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. After investigation, deputies placed Ryan Pearcy, 26, of Byron under arrest for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a controlled substance (MDMA), possession of a controlled substance (LSD), possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin mushrooms) and improper cannabis container-driver. Pearcy was additionally issued a citation for improper plate attachment. Pearcy was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance.    

On Sept. 28 at approximately 8:50 p.m. deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Kennedy Hill Road and Woodburn Road. After investigation, deputies placed Jonathan McClanahan, 34, of Winnebago under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. McClanahan was additionally issued citations for failure to obey a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. McClanahan was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

On Sept. 29 at approximately 9:19 p.m. deputies were dispatched to intersection of German Church Road at Limerick Road for the report of a vehicle in the ditch. Deputies were advised prior to their arrival, that the vehicle was traveling through a bean field before becoming stuck in the ditch. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Thera N. Anspach, 38, of Byron, for driving under the influence of alcohol and unlawful possession of cannabis/driver. Anspach was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. Anspach was also cited for open container of alcohol. Deputies also arrested passenger Charles R. Gallagher, 43, of Oregon, for unlawful possession of cannabis/passenger. Gallagher was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Gallagher was also cited for open container of alcohol.  ​

On Sept. 29 at approximately 4 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Illinois Route 38 and Main Street in Creston. After conducting an investigation, it was discovered Chase Schott, 20, of Monroe Center was traveling eastbound into Creston when he didn’t realize a motorcycle traveling in front of him was turning south onto Main Street. Schott then applied the brakes causing his vehicle to skid to the right shoulder before over-correcting and crossing both lanes of traffic where he struck an oncoming car driven by Daniel Calderon, 19, of Rochelle. Calderon was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for injuries. Schott was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. Schott was released from the scene and provided a future court appearance. 

On Sept. 30 at approximately 8:35 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4,500 block of south Lowell Park Road for a speeding violation of 70 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone. After a brief investigation, Osvaldo Chavez, 23, of Sterling, was placed under arrest for no valid driver's license. Chavez was also cited for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Chavez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

On Oct. 1 at 1:06 a.m. deputies and the Lynn Scott Rock Fire Dept. were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Illinois Route 72 near Moulton Road. Investigation by deputies revealed that an east bound Kia SUV operated by Jessica Harper-Wlodarczyk, 39, of Davis Junction had struck a concrete barrier on the overpass. Harper was transported by LSR ambulance to the Rochelle Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries. Harper was arrested for driving under the influence and improper lane usage and was released on a I-bond.
